This exclusive track is only accessible to folks who have gotten ahold of one of the limited-edition “Legacy” broadsides/art cards designed by Jerilyn Guerrero. These art cards are not for sale; they will be given away at various performances until they are gone. I also keep a few copies on me when I’m out and about — if you see me, ask for one!

“Legacy” has had a multi-modal and iterative journey over the years. In the early 90s it was first published in a journal called MoonRabbit Review. After that, I included a version of it in my 1995 chapbook "Half-Truths." In 2002 I recorded a version with Kulintang master/National Endowment for the Arts awardee Danny Kalanduyan, and from 2013-2018 parts of "Legacy" were integrated into my performance piece "Half-Breed."

During my time as Composer-in-Residence with Quinteto Latino (QL) in 2022, I developed a solo arrangement — SlapStick and voice — to perform at a QL-related event, and in early 2023 Mosaic America asked me to perform the new version at San José Museum of Art. This new version seemed to resonate strongly with audiences. Because the text and the music have both evolved over the years, I decided to document this new version --- which I believe will be the final iteration -- with a recording and new artwork.
